Render inside and out

Back from holidays and the builders have been busy, the bricks have been rendered inside and out. I guess this is sort of a pre-render to smooth things out before the coloured texture render gets applied.

I didn't realise they rendered the interior brickwork as well. A lot of these construction techniques are unfamiliar to me in comparison to the brick veneer style used in Victoria.

I'm not quite sure why there are so many marks that have been patched up. It almost looks as if someone has been through with a stick and randomly started scratching up all over the place. Perhaps I'm being paranoid, the builder didn't mention anything. The plaster will cover it all up anyway so it matters not.

Colourbond in different light

Went down the street to check things out before we leave for Melbourne tomorrow. This picture was taken at about 7:00PM with the sun going down behind us. You can see how different the Colourbond looks in this light. Looks like they've cleaned up the site, not quite sure what else is planned before the Christmas break.

This shot shows the other 10m wide block next to us, looks so much smaller without a building on it. Hopefully the new owners don't sit on it for too long.

Colourbond

The roofers have been in this week and finished off the Colourbond roof covering.

The Colourbond colour we've chosen is Shale Grey, it looks extremely pale, almost white when you see it in full sunlight but it's actually quite grey when you compared the swatch to a plain white piece of paper. The render will be Deep Ocean and the feature wall will be Shale Grey.

The pile is looking quite impressive.
